Smith really didn’t know much about ‘Doctor Who’ prior to getting the role. The only exposure he had at the time was during the 10^th Doctor’s era. At Moffat’s 50^th birthday party, he actually went up to David Tennant (the 10^th Doctor) and said, ‘You were my first ever Doctor!”  (Imagine Tennant’s face to that comment coming from a 29 year old!) Matt said he wept.

• DAY 10 - Which is your favorite: Team TARDIS or Team Free Will ?
• It’s hard to pick one… But I choose Team TARDIS.
  I have no particular reason, I don’t really love team Tardis more than Team Free Will… Plus, I don’t know which team Tardis i could pick : Nine/Rose/Jack(/Tardis) or Eleven/Amy/Rory(/Tardis) ? I love both. Both are, from my point of view, more joined. I’m glad the love triangle disappeared for Eleven/Amy/Rory, they become more trusting with each others now. For River, I think she’s is a special case. But I pick Team Tardis maybe because of the Doctor, maybe because I know them longer (with Nine/Rose/Jack too, even if it was really short) and they made me dream. I don’t know.
  If the Winchesters would be less egocentric, the Team Free Will would be more solid. I really love them, okay ? Sam, Dean, Cas and Bobby, they’re my favorite, for all the show, but their team is sort of shattered sometimes…

• DAY 1 - Your favorite character from Doctor Who and why.
• This serie is too huge and I can’t have just one favorite character… But I must pick one and I say : the Doctor. This man is a genius and offers dreams, it’s like his hearts are brimming over with love. He’s funny and don’t care being weird… The way he talks, the way he moves, the way he thinks : this character is fabulous. But most of all, I love his “curse”, how tragic he can be. He’s the last of his species but can’t be alone otherwise he’s like lost and make a lot of errors (like in “Waters of Mars”…), yet he can’t stay forever with his friends and his companions : it’s a vicious circle with always a good departure in a friendship but an awful end. Which character is like him ? No one ! This is why I really like him, he’s unique with his strenght but also his weakness.
  I love all of them, actually I like them like children : I don’t want to denigrate one of them, it’s still the “same” man after all… But I should say that Eleven is “my Doctor”. I don’t start to watch the show because of him or Matt Smith (I didn’t know him and actually, it was for David Tennant), but he really entrained me into Doctor Who and mostly of my favorite episodes are with him.
  As others characters… My favorite companions are Rose and Donna and more recently, Rory. I really like River Song too. At the very beginning, I was anxious, I thought “Oh my… Who is she ? I don’t know if I’ll like her…”, but then : wow ! What a woman : mad, charming and smart, I definitely accept her. As creatures, I really like the Oods and the strange Silences.
  And of course… I won’t forget this beautiful woman : the Tardis.
